How to start Social Fundraising with BlueSwarm
Getting your BlueSwarm for Facebook presence humming along could not be easier. Basically there are just 3 steps, install the app, invite some friends, tell everyone else about it!. Listed below are some more detailed instructions for those of you looking for some moreinformation.
For your account...
Step 1. Authorize the BlueSwarm app
Log into your Facebook account and go to apps.facebook.com/blueswarm/. On completing the authorization steps you will be shown a screen called "All My Campaigns".
Step 2. Install your campaign
Click the "Add Campaign" button and find your campaign in the popup list. You can filter the list by typing a search term into the box at the top of the list.
Step 3. Add the Donate Tab to your candidates profile
This can be done by navigating to the personal profile of your candidate, then clicking the plus icon which is the right most tab. The dropdown box will include a link called "Donate". Once you have selected this a new tab will appear giving you choices of which campaign donate form to display.
For your Fan Page...
Step 4. Add BlueSwarm to your Fan Page
If you have a Facebook page then you will be add the Donate tab to that page just as you have done with your candidates profile. First you need to add BlueSwarm as an app to the Fan Page, which can be done by visiting the application page. On the left column is a link called "Add to my Page", once added you can install your campaign donation form in the same fashion as above.
Now...
Step 5. Invite some friends
From the application invite page, send a personalized message to up your friends. There is a daily limit, so keep using up those invites, and start it again the next day. A followed invite will result in a new user for your campaign.
Step 6. Post to your wall
Using the share button within the app will post news items directly to your wall. The links within these posts are directly to the donate page. Once a user donates they can either share or invite more friends in doing so they will also become users of your campaign.
Step 7. Post to the wall on your fan page.
This is an important step as it may be the single most efficient way to reach a large audience in one step. Posting a BlueSwarm targetted post to your page is done from the publisher on the wall tab of the page. This is only accessible by the page admins.
